All four knee levers are brand new Emmons, with black anodized handles. and the fret board is a new Emmons Factory replacement. Please note this is not a restoration but is virtually like a new Emmons guitar! Believe it or not, the lacquer finish in this original Emmons cabinet from the 70’s has not been refinished! All aluminum brightwork, were professionally polished, neck jeweled, etc. I just finished building this guitar using various new and used parts that I’ve accumulated over the years. “New” mid 70’s style red/orange lacquer Emmons push-pull S-10 3×4 (SOLD!) I think it came out in the 60's,as there was an old country magazine in the case with some of the older country songs of that time.
So now I can narrow it down a little more. Yeah, I had an idea it might be from the 70s but our guitars must have been made around the same time.
Oh yeh.its a rosewood 6x2.but I have added two knee levers.and still leave the six on the floor to give me something to mess around with!! I bought my S10 about August 1974.brand new Serial No 1314.I suppose it would have been on the shelf a little while.but I would put it at early 74.now as I look at the time I have had it.I suppose I should tink about changing the strings. It was stamped right underneath the changers, you really need a flashlight or else theres no chance of seeing it. Hey Pard, Where was it stamped on your ax? I'm not sure on the year so I'd like to find the serial number so I can figure out more details about this guitar. My two D-12 PPs are SN's D116 and D127, for instance. If it's something else, could be anything. This might be a dumb question but where would the serial number on an older Emmons steel be?Īssuming it's a Push-Pull D-10, it SHOULD be stamped in the end plate right behind the changer.
